Texas Teen Court Mock Trial Competition
As we were expecting another great year of friendly competition between our programs, the world had other plans. TCAT is looking forward to the next opportunity to meet and in the meantime, we will be preparing for a great comeback! In the coming months, we can begin setting up meeting opportunities for teen court coordinators to get together and talk about the plans for the 2023 year. As we usually host open forum conversations regarding competition planning, suggestions are welcome about how to proceed with next year’s competition. If you would like to begin submitting your thoughts about location, dates, times, cases or other information relative to that event, we are all ears!
Safe wishes to all,

On Saturday, April 13, 2019, HEB Teen Court hosted the Texas Teen Court Competition held at G.A. Buinger CTE Academy in Bedford. There were a total of 16 Teams representing 11 Teen Courts that participated. The out of town teams stayed at the brand new, fantastic Home2 Suites DFW West (1916 Forest Ridge Dr.). There were 4 rooms with 3 rounds and the 2 top scoring teams competed in a final round.
Mayor Griffin was present to welcome everyone to Bedford and Judge Murphy was present to announce the judges. There were local judges and prosecutors who volunteered on their Saturday to be “Judges” for the event. For the FINAL round there were 3 new “Judges” present: Chief Judge of City of Ft. Worth, Danny Rodgers, Tarrant County District Attorney Sharen Wilson, and Luvenia Sanchez, Attorney at Law, Dallas County. |
The top 2 teams in the final round were from Georgetown Teen Court and Allen Teen Court.
Thank You to HEBISD for allowing the use of the building and a HUGE Thank You to SRO Officer Mark Tooley for being there VERY early and providing the security and access into the rooms for us all day!
