Odessa Teen Court

7/21/2017

Odessa Teen Court was founded as a non-profit organization in November 1983 by the Junior League of Odessa, and is one of the oldest teen courts in the nation.  OTC is one of the founding members of the Teen Court Association of Texas.   We are a collaboration between the City of Odessa, Ector County and Ector County Independent School District.

Odessa Teen Court sees approximately 500-700 cases a year.  Court is held 2-3 Mondays a month at the Ector County Courthouse.  We use the master jury format for our traffic cases and jury trial format for our criminal cases.  We have around 10 teen volunteers that act as our prosecution, defense, and bailiffs.  Volunteer adult attorneys from the community act as our teen court judges.

For more information about Odessa Teen Court, please contact Rebecca Grisham, Teen Court Coordinator or Denise Swanner, Teen Court Clerk at 432-335-3352, or by email at  [email protected] or [email protected]
